Heidi Merikalla-Teir currently chairs the Board of the Arbitration Institute of the Finland Chamber of Commerce (FAI).

She is a seasoned legal and business professional with degrees in law (LL.M) and business administration (MBA). With over 20 years of experience in business law firms and expert organizations, she has a proven track record of leading organizations and resolving conflicts through a pragmatic, business-minded approach. Before launching her own business in June 2024, where she now serves as an independent arbitrator, mediator, and dispute board member, she spent five years as the CEO and a partner at a Finnish business law firm specializing in dispute resolution. In addition to her role as CEO/Managing Partner, she also served as an arbitrator and mediator.

Until 2019, she was the Director at the Finland Chamber of Commerce and Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute of the Finland Chamber of Commerce (FAI) for nearly five years.
