The 34th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (2026/2027), will feature the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) Arbitration Rules as the governing procedural framework. This selection represents the Moot’s ongoing effort to familiarize its global participants with a wide spectrum of arbitral practices.

The ICDR, the international division of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), has established itself as a leading institution for managing cross-border disputes across a wide range of commercial sectors. With a global caseload spanning parties from more than 100 jurisdictions, the ICDR is known for its strong international orientation, clear procedural architecture, and commitment to efficient case administration.

By incorporating the ICDR Rules, the 34th Vis Moot offers students and practitioners a chance to work with a procedural system that is widely used in international business environments. This reflects also the Moot’s broader educational mission: exposing participants to diverse arbitration traditions and encouraging a deeper appreciation of how different institutions structure and manage arbitral proceedings.

Teams from across the world—representing law schools in more than 80 countries—are expected to take part in the 2026/2027 edition. The use of the ICDR Rules will add an engaging dimension, enriching the learning experience for competitors while reinforcing the Vis Moot’s role as a bridge between academic study and real-world arbitration practice.
