Willem C. Vis Moot to apply CRCICA Arbitration Rules for it’s 35th edition

In an exciting development for the international arbitration community, the 2028 edition of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot will feature the arbitration rules of the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA). This marks the first time that the CRCICA Rules will serve as the procedural framework for the prestigious competition, underscoring the Moot’s continued commitment to global representation in arbitration practice.

Founded in 1959, CRCICA has grown into one of the most respected arbitration institutions in the Middle East and Africa. Its rules, known for their modern structure and alignment with international best practices, have increasingly gained recognition across the global legal landscape.

The decision to spotlight CRCICA not only introduces thousands of students and practitioners to a new set of institutional rules, but also highlights the evolving geography of international arbitration. The move reflects the Vis Moot’s tradition of rotating arbitral institutions to promote broader awareness and understanding of global dispute resolution mechanisms.

With participants from over 80 countries expected to take part, the 2028 Vis Moot promises to be a vibrant forum for cross-cultural exchange, learning, and legal excellence—this time, through the lens of CRCICA’s procedural framework.
